“April is the cruelest month, breeding
lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
memory and desire, stirring
dull roots with spring rain.”
―T.S. Eliot, The Waste Land
Join us at FBAC (virtually) for Poetry month! We would love to share your poems and connect with our community to hear poems that are being written while we are sheltered-in-place.
Let's make April a little less cruel by creating poetry about what we intend to do once this is all over and can leave our homes. Are you going to a new job? Are you traveling? Are you going to see loved ones? Are you going back to the same-old, same-old? What are your dreams for after quarantine?
In Frederick, we have our wandering poets, The Typewriter poets, who compose short poems at numerous events. You can find out more about them at www.typewriterpoets.com
Let's share some poems and a little cheer this month. Here is a poem from our six year old writer, Seraphima, who is our Communications Director's daughter. This was published in The Ephemeral, our newspaper project of last Summer.
